My father tells me this is his favorite photo of me. I have no idea why, all you can see is the back of my head. From this angle you get none of my dashing good looks or cute baby smile.
He tells me this photo is a metaphor for my future. He continues to mumble on about how this image conveys my place in the world, something he calls "little man big world". He states that there is a range of opportunities awaiting me as I grow and this images captures my scale against the diverse background of the world. He continues to state that the image of me walking away foretells the day when I will leave home to make my own life.
Of all the images over the past two years that have been taken of me, this is the only one that can move my father to the occasional tear. For that reason alone it is also my favorite. (Even if I am still to young to fully understand its meaning)
