The Great North Ice Pond

The Great North is known for three things, awesome beer (so my dad says), great lakes and cold winters. One of the perks of having a cold winter is that everything freezes. The sidewalks freeze, the snow freezes, ponds freeze and yes even the grass, with a little help from a garden hose, freezes. This makes for some great fun as we pretend to ice skate. The problem with pretend ice skating is sometimes you fall down for real and OUCH that can hurt on your tush.

A few ice packs on your buttocks and your are ready to get back out there.

The Gates are Back!

Sisters, they seem to mess up everything. Here I am, enjoying my personal freedoms, you know the ability for a person to come and go as they wish. Then lo and behold I am stopped in my tracks by a child proof gate. This gate is not meant to keep me in, but to trap my little sister in the family room. (Why the family room, I have no idea as it has an equal amount of death producing situations as the other rooms) Now for the next 9 months I must endure having an adult lift me over this gate in order to do simple everyday functions, such as, I don't know, going to the bathroom. Clearly my parents have not fully thought this plan out.
